Strength Training for Runners

Some runners run just because they have the bug and feel better when then get out there and do it. For others there is a level of competition or they have a specific goal in mind, like running a race. Whatever your reason is for running, you want to be as efficient and injury free as possible. Strength training will contribute to both those objectives, as well as increase your running performance. If you only run then your body adapts to that movement and you no longer challenge your body to reach its full potential. By challenging your body in other ways, like strength training, then your body will respond and the benefits will show in your running. This 6 week program is designed to provide information and training guidance for runners seeking to improve their overall running experience. We will explore why strength training compliments running and cover the basic categories of performance development including flexibility and mobility, core strength, and efficiency.

Program info:

· Starts September 7th

· 6 week program

· Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-7 pm

· $180 flat fee (due first day) or $150 if you pre-register

· Open to everyone – beginners, athletes, men, women, even non-runners because any movement can be a benefit!

~ $250 for two (pre-registered), a $25 discount per person
