If we are defined by our tribe then look up the word supergroovyawesomestrong, because that dictionary will say “see also Bodytribe.” There was once a time, so long ago as to only be remembered as the Empty Period, when Bodytribe was just a gym; a space within a building that housed some weights, a few dreams and one lone guy standing there hoping people would come play with him.
Hi everyone. You guys rawk!
Every person I meet is in some way my superior. Emerson wrote that (although I’m paraphrasing the gender specifications… even ol’ Ralphie had a small hint of the sexist in him). Is it cycles of low self esteem or simply a heightened awe in others that sometimes this fact is glaringly blatant?

One trait I wish to covet is the ability to apply greater celebration to milestones. As a fan of ritual, it is almost ironic that birthdays, anniversaries and other chronological benchmarks are so easily forgotten within my noggin. It was a good several hours into the waking day back in August when someone reminded me of my own 39th anniversay of life.
For folks who celebrate and elevate these days into personal rituals, I salute you, and when it turns into a tribal celebration, there might even be a little magic in there.
(I do wish I had better pictures, but I had to clip these from our strength camp videos… sorry).
Our Tribe has extended around the world. Although we have a physical hub here in this capitol town of California, somehow some of you have taken the spirit of our brand of physical culture to points I never dreamed it could go, and sometimes strange little sinookas bring us together with truly wonderful people, the type of folks that make you wonder how you’ve not grown up together.
I see you over there, waving. Hellooooo.
A pair of Tribe members are celebrating the yearly ritual of celebrating their love for each other on this fine Wednesday. So from our Body-Tribe to your duprass, Happy Anniversary, Craig and Dana!
“When the happiness of another person becomes as essential to yourself as your own, then the state of love exists.”
– Robert Heinlein, Stranger in a Strange Land
So in celebration, I’ll call the two workout sections in this video Dana and Craig, representing grace and power in movement (well… it’s supposed to. Not sure if I pull it off or not).

Coming events:
For this Saturday’s Tune Up, Tav will explore more of the movements we embraced as kids, but sadly left behind as we delved into adulthood. Play hard, using hand balancing and tumbling to increase the ability of your body. More info here, along with info about our upcoming STRENGTH CAMP!!

Love the ruituals! If anyone has a 48th birthday coming up, you are welcome to borrow my 48th birthday workout from last September:
*4 pullups (modified for more or less difficulty if needed, *8 burpees, *4 lengths of the gym heavy bag carry, *8 ball slams, *4 sled tugs, *8 box jumps, *4 lengths farmer’s walk, *8 ninja chops each side. I did it twice, but feel free to do more!
YAY! Happy Anniversary Craig and Dana!
Thanks so much! This one didn’t update in my feed, so I almost missed it. Dana totally rocks. One of her stated long term goals is to be able to come for a strength camp and feel like she could hold her own. My stated long term goal is to remain worthy of her love. Blessings on you all-
Craig
Are you still on schedule for jan this year for your new mobility dvd? Can’t wait for that, loved the first one.
thanks frank
Happy Anniversary and happy holidays! Best wishes to you guys…
