Because we’re supposed to

At some point today, throw this into the mix:

3 heavy Jerks followed by 5 Hindu Pushups. How many rounds can you crank out in 5 minutes?

Or try Allyson’s entire workout:

Why do we have the ability to move like this and like that? It’s an easy answer. Because we’re supposed to. So much of natural science (and even a bit of theology) tells us that very little is random. Everything seems to have a purpose. So when another movement shibboleth makes it way into popular ears or eyes about exercises we’re not supposed to do, am I to believe that God or Mother Nature goofed in giving me the ability to do it?

Move. A lot. In many ways. And have some fun doing it.

Last Saturday was Band Camp. Bodytribe trainers Brian and AJ instructed a bunch of groovy uses for those big ass bands we have lying around that are most commonly (around these parts) attached to bars for powerlifting training. Here were some other uses…

NEWS AND SUCH

I’ve updated the upcoming workshops, but it turns out a bit prematurely. This weekend our compadres at Midtown Strength and Conditioning are hosting the Tactical Strength Challenge, and I’ll be busy helping them judge the event. So there is a postponing of the upcoming workshop series until the following Saturday. Sure, that’s the Big Bunny’s weekend, but what better time for the releasing of tension in our Strength through Mobility workshop. Check the updated webpage for more details.

Thanks to AJ, and Brian for the band camp. It was great. Well worth the drive from Arcata. It was a great group of tribal members to play with…..

Thanks for the workshop updates Chip. I can’t decide what I want to do now. Do I do Al’s workshop on my birthday weekend, or DB class or both. decisions – decisions………

Chip can you provide a link to the TRX cord that you have. That we did the sprints in band camp with ? The ones I see online look different then yours.

I think the mobility workshop would really help me get back into the swing of things but it’s the day after surgery for me. Perhaps I’ll just sut and take notes.

Box jump-burpee-ups – Yee haw! Now why haven’t I thought of those? I know. I’m just not as awesome as Chip and Allyson! Gonna have to find a way to set up for those. :)
